1)Non Verbal communication is a relatively recent area of scientific study. Identify and briefly explain three areas of non-verbal communication. Use your own perception from your culture and give two examples for each area.

Non verbal communication is the process or procedure of communicating with a person or party without using any form of speech, sending and receiving wordless message. It can be gesture, facial expression, body languages, eye contact, etc; it can be cultural as well, not limited to such as gender and age.

Three main areas of non verbal communication:

Eye contact: Eye contact is one of the main forms of nonverbal communication. It is most effective in the goal to gain trust of anyone, since it is a type of to let someone know that you are concentrating on them, this gives a person a sign to respond to a message or not.

Posture: Having good posture is very important because it is helps us in so many ways in showing our confidence, trust and power.

Gestures: Gestures are very important in nonverbal communication since it allows us to interest the person by showing the bigger picture to what we are saying. Effective way is to make proper use of hands while delivering a speech in front of public or a class.

Perception of our culture:

There can be different perceptions in our culture regarding different behaviours some of them are like

 Greeting with placing both hands together with a slight bow is a very common nonverbal communication and it shows respect for Indian customs.

 Most of the time side to side hand wave is normally by Indians as "no" or "go away."

 Touching anyone’s head is not considered good, it’s a sensitive area and shows disrespect.

 Pointing a finger at someone would be considered rude.
