Information Systems Literature Review

RSCH 202

Abstract

Humans today are becoming more and more dependent on Information Systems. But in this literature review I will be discussing the downfalls of reliance on such systems. Our culture, especially in the United States has become so reliant on the software systems that we often have extremely long downtimes and malfunctions because of the large part of technology involved in our businesses. This can be a good thing, but it also has its drawbacks.

Information Systems Literature Review

Society today is constantly evolving in our technological expertise. We as humans have designed millions of programs and digital software to enhance our production rates. But is this the only answer? I believe it creates a problem, and the problem is that today's industry has relied so heavily on software and information systems that the continuous updates and changes regularly cause downtime and malfunctions which can actually reduce production time. I chose this problem because it actually applied to my previous position in Aircraft Maintenance. I believe that sometimes it is helpful in large scale operations, but at times software and digital reliance can cripple an organization. I believe it is important for us to solve this problem to be able to have successful outputs throughout the world without damaging customers, production, or system security.

From a business point of view it can be a growing target or change in the business model to incorporate Information Systems into their business. These ideas are usually sound, however depending on the size of business hundreds are failed because of it. Improper management of these systems or poor incorporation of them into he business has led to catastrophic repercussions to businesses.
