Mentoring

1) The purpose of this essay is to make people realize the potential benefits an organization would benefit from with a mentoring program in place. With this essay, I plan to better inform my audience on the idea of mentorship. I hope the reader gains more information and maybe one day be opened to being a mentor or a mentee if offered the chance.

2) After completing this assignment, I learned that mentorships can be of benefit through its many forms and can be done long-distance also. I understood more the feelings of the mentors and also the mentees that served in those roles. After completing the research, I gained an even deeper appreciation for all types of mentorship programs that are available.

3) I did not encounter any difficulties during the research, as everything was readily available on the subject. I had a little difficulty trying to figure out how to use the Rogerian method to argue my point though. The editing phase was a little hard for me in trying to figure out how to begin and end my essay.

4) The main thing I enjoyed most about this essay was that I truly believe in the concept of a mentoring program. I gained even more knowledge concerning the different ways that mentorship can be implemented. I especially enjoyed learning about the government survey taken involving the long distance mentorship program pilot.

5) I decided to write about this topic due to having been chosen to mentor before. It was a very uplifting feeling for me. I am not currently discussing this topic in another course.
