InterCleans’ subsistence depends heavily on its ability to effectively and efficiently fulfill the emerging needs of its customer base which includes full service, industrial and institutional sterilization and cleaning products and customer service. In order to maintain competitive advantage and become the leader within the industry, InterClean CEO David Spencer has a vision of moving the company from a focus on sales to a solutions-based organization.

This vision seeks to enhance offer “customized packages of cleaning solutions and systems” which requires a shift in organization culture and infrastructure of the organization in order to be successful.

Many factors contribute to the success or lack of success of a business or organization, including the use of technology, product lines and specific business strategy. In addition, the way in which a business or organization designs its’ strategic business plan is a strong indicator of its level of organization, competitive advantage and strength. Businesses and organizations must also be able to respond to changes in environments, technology and customer/client need strategically, in order to remain competitive.

This paper will outline potential solutions to these concepts as they relate to InterClean Inc. and the CEO’s goal to “provide a full spectrum of cleaning services and solutions that will become (the) our major avenue of sales” (University of Phoenix 2010).
