Everyone communicates on a daily basis. Communication takes place in schools, grocery stores, organizations, and businesses. In many organizations and businesses communication plays an important role in dealing with a person’s personal information in many different areas. In healthcare, providers and healthcare workers are responsible for communicating personal health information internally and externally of the healthcare facility. As with many other businesses that handle a person’s personal information in their area, the business or organization is responsible for containing that information to certain people. This information is also to be handled in ways that are compliant with rules and regulations that hold the organization responsible legally for the information and how the information is assessable. Internal methods of communication may be less limited than external methods of communication. And direct methods may be more convenient than indirect methods. However personal information is contained and handled compliant to the organization, these methods serve their purpose to assure the individual security and knowledge that their information is safe from exposure.

As a direct healthcare provider where I work the main channel of internal communication used between my managers and I is speaking by telephone or leaving a voice message, since I work outside the office but directly in the clients home this channel works well. This type of communication fits into my schedule since my work hours vary and my managers because they each have many clients to administer, telephone and voicemail is quicker than having to make time for face-to-face meetings about every minor question or concern.
