This week’s assignment is in regard to three different communication channel scenarios on the student website. The three main different forms of communication channels are: verbal communication, non verbal communication and written communication. These three different channels are again divided into different ways of communication. The main purpose of this assignment is to identify the correct communication channel and answer the questions to each scenario.

Scenario 1

What communication channel will you use? Why is this channel the best choice in this situation? What communication channel will you use to convey your strategy to the Vice President of Operations? Why is this channel the best choice in this situation?

Looking at the scenario and the task given I would choose a verbal communication channel at first. I would set up a meeting with the team to let them know exactly what is wanted and needed from us, be readily available to answer questions by the team members and brainstorm together on how to proceed. Once the strategy is established I would request a meeting with the Vice President to explain the strategy to him and ensure that this is the right way to go, and he agrees with it. Once approved the channel of communication would be written through e-mail until closer to the deadline and then another meeting.

The verbal communication channel would be the best way in this scenario because there is only one week available to come up with a strategy. The whole team is together and can get questions answered right away. In addition they could brainstorm together. It seems to be the fastest way to answer all questions right away and to ensure that every team member is on the same page.

In addition because this strategy has to go through the approval of the VP verbal communication would be again the best option in this scenario since questions and explanations could be asked...
