INTRODUCTION

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Phillips Group is a technical consulting corporation, established in 1991. The headquarters is located in Charlotte NC, and employs fifty to sixty technical and administrative personnel. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the city of Charlotte Park and Recreation Department are two of our largest customers. The company’s revenue for the year 2011 reported earnings where four million six hundred thousand dollars.

BUSINESS GOALS

Continued growth is the company’s goal, and by the end of the 2012 fiscal year will open offices in five major southern cities. The potential for growth is evident due to recent acquired consulting contracts in three states. The companies’ desires are to build a partnership with interested Fortune 500® corporations. Government contracts are targeted as main source of revenues.

INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT

PROJECT GOALS

The company will purchase new Microsoft® Office® programs, and it is the company’s goal to implement a training session concerning the usage of the Office® components. This training will be required for all administrative and technical staff members. The implementation of such training will reduce duplication and expenses. Also it is believed that this project will make the company more competitive with its business competitors.

TIME ALLOCATED FOR PROJECT COMPLETION

The company will have the software upgrades installed to all computers by January 6, 2012. The company’s does most of its business at the end of the second quarter each year going into the third quarter. That being the case it is management’s desire to see the training sessions begin no later than February 6, 2012 and be completed by April 2, 2012.
