Q1) How should it go about recruiting workers for the new factory? What recruitment channels would you recommend and why?

Yew Lung Biscuits Company should start off by establishing a Human Resource Plan. Human resource planning is a process by which an organization ensures that they have the right number and kinds of people, and are capable of effectively and efficiently completing those tasks that will help the organization achieve its overall strategic objectives. The human resource plan identifies the skills and levels of experience required for each position, and then identify the labor market where individuals with the necessary qualifications are to be found. This information is use to identify the appropriate recruiting strategies and hiring practices that work best to attract those individuals. The staffing plan also evaluates various methods for filing the needs by examining alternative staffing methods, such as hiring temporary workers, outsourcing non essential functions and telecommuting.

Next, they should identify the job needs. To identify which jobs will be needed in an organization, the human resources department need to know where the organization if going; that is, what goals the senior management team has set for it. Based on these organization goals, the managers of individual operating units (such as finance or sales) can establish the goals and objectives they need to achieve in order for the organization goals to be reached. It is at this level that the work of building the staffing plan begins.
