Job Description

Job Title: Librarian, Full-time

Department: Instructional

Location: School site

Reports To: Dean of School

Summary: This position will report directly to the Dean of schools, under general supervision of the site Administrator. As part of the library/media program, this position is responsible to perform a variety of computer, clerical, and library duties in the school library; and works closely with faculty and students to provide general information and assistance as well as organizing and leading training sessions, meetings, and curriculum based events.

Essential duties and responsibilities: Other related duties may be assigned.

· Operate all office equipment including, but not limited to computers, printers, fax and copy machines, and software applicable to the library/media center; includes the use of Internet and network applications, electronic catalog circulation program, word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheet applications.

· Assist students and staff in utilizing reference databases, locating and checking out materials, and instruction in the use of library resources. Assist with materials selection according to their needs.

·Perform various clerical duties to include maintaining and processing library media, filing, scheduling of media center resources such as student work stations, media center meeting areas, books, and other related materials. May also assemble packets and materials for students.

·Conduct periodic inventory of all materials, software, supplies, and equipment, discarding and making necessary purchases in accord with standard procedures and the budget.

·Maintain all equipment, materials, and resources in good repair, order, and ease of use.

·Provide supervision of all areas of the library and media center.
