Choosing between Internal and External Change leaders

Change is inevitable in present organization to sustain. It is important for the management to understand the causes of change to help them foresee and plan the necessary change measurements to take place in the organization. There are 3 factors which forces company to change; namely Economic causes, Social causes and Technological causes (David C. and Miriam G. 2004).

Economic causes: Advance technology today makes purchasing an ease, allowing customers to make purchases of their requirements with any firms around the world. Gone are the days where purchasing resources are limited within the nation boundaries. Companies offering similar products or services have to consider their potential competitors anywhere in the world, causing a need to innovate and keep up with the world standard.

In times of financial crisis, companies make adjustments to sustain. Meaning to cut cost of production or acquiring fewer workers. On the contrast, companies change their strategies to take advantage of the growing economy.

Social causes: In times where there the population of a particular age group increase, businesses change to accommodate to the required products and services they offer. For example, when there’s a baby boom in a particular period, businesses divert their attention to offer more childcare related products. The influx of trendy clothes, vibrant hangouts such as cafes and restaurants targeted at the younger generations and ending off with more healthcare services and health improvement products to offer to the ageing populations.

Technological causes: In order to gather more business and process them, organizations look into more advance machines which increases their efficiency in the production process, process of sales and the day-to-day routine of the business. Technology is constantly changing and organizations do their best to keep up with it to sustain (David C. and Miriam G. 2004).
