If you are in a same sex marriage, you're going to Hell. Two people of the same gender cannot raise a kid together. God hates people who are in a same sex marriage. Not too long ago, these were the most popular beliefs that people had towards same sex marriage. In today's society, same sex marriages are being more accepted, but at the same time, are still being discriminated against. Same sex marriage should be legal in every state because it would give same sex couples the same marriage benefits as heterosexual couples, and same sex couples would be fully recognized by the government.

In fact, when you are born, you automatically receive human rights. Not because of what gender you are, or what your sexual orientation is, but because you are a human. Having your rights denied from you just because of your sexual preference is inhumane. When you are in a same sex relationship, you are not able to visit your partner in the hospital if they are critically injured, you lose your taxation and inheritance rights, and there is no protection in the event of the relationship ending. These rights are reserved for the people in a heterosexual relationship. Heterosexual couples have about 1,049 benefits awarded to them; the couples in a same sex relationship are not able to take advantage of these benefits. Is this because a same sex marriage is not “traditional?” Actually, there really is no such thing as a “traditional” marriage. Throughout the years, many marriages were different. Some with different races, different social classes, and even with a different lifestyle. Yet, it is only a same sex marriage that is “untraditional?” A marriage that is based solely on the love a couple has for one another, regardless of gender, should be the meaning of a “traditional” marriage. Studies have proven that same sex marriage has no effect on marriage, divorce, and abortion rates, or the percent of children born out of wedlock.
