A SWOT Analysis consists of identifying a company’s internal strengths and weaknesses as well as a company’s external opportunities and threats. Lastly in identifying the weaknesses and threats to also identify possible fixes. Dell Computer’s strengths consist of selling directly to the consumer. Selling directly allows the company to keep the cost of the product down enticing more customers. In this approach the computer’s prices are lower than their competitors there for alluring more customers. Some of Dell Computer’s weaknesses would be they have no strong relationships with computer retailers because they sell directly to the consumer. When they want to broaden their selling base they have not established relationships already to allow them to take that route. So in a sense they would be starting over in one aspect of their company. The opportunities that Dell Computer has are one stop shopping for consumers. Because they are selling directly to the consumer, the consumer is not inundated with other merchandise at a chain store; they are also not being pestered by sales associates.
