How do you see your career developing and how will this program help you achieve your goals?

Working on a final year project sponsored by Persistent Systems Ltd was a distant dream for many of the students at my college. I was more than happy to work on a research based project on WSN’s – Wireless Sensor Networks – which was sponsored by Persistent. Eventually, I got an interview call from Persistent and I cracked it. I decided not to accept the offer from a renowned MNC and instead joined Persistent because of its work culture and supportiveness for innovative ideas.

As a Software Engineer at Persistent Systems Ltd., I applied all the knowledge that I had gathered during my graduation and from my peers at work to develop a high quality product which provided customers with a comprehensive business solution. Soon, I got recognition for my performance and was promoted to Senior Software Engineer.

But developing software is only one part of a complete end to end process. What after software is developed? How to market the developed software to the prospective customers? How to maximize the profits from the sales of the software? I want to learn such aspects that are involved in a complete business cycle.

I feel that now, I have reached a turning point in my life. I don’t want to go in the direction I am going and at the same time, I don’t have the required skill set to get me where I want to go.

In today’s dynamic world where technology is emerging so quickly and businesses are changing so rapidly, one must be a “complete package” to succeed in any aspect of life, may it be personal or professional. Although specialization in any one aspect of business is a must, I feel that it is also necessary to possess working knowledge of all other aspects to be able to comprehensively manage a business enterprise.
