SWOT Analysis are used to analyze one’s internal strength and weakness, and one’s

external threat and opportunity. Identifying one’s internal and external advantage/disadvantage

leads to one being able to identify what is needed as an improvement, and what goals can be

made. I gained my strengths from being a Management Information Systems minor, my

weakness can be looked upon as a strength, there are several opportunities that I can take

advantage of, and a threat that can effect my future job opportunities.

As a Finance major student, I minor in Management Information Systems, which has

strengthen my ability to analyze data. I gained the ability to evaluate a large sum of information

to determine which information best meets the needs of the organization. In addition I can assist

with organizing and modifying data using Statistical Analysis System, (SAS). Management

Information Systems has strengthen my ability to organize and evaluate financial data.

Having confidence is considered useful, my confidence is a weakness for me. I have a

moderate level of confidence that leads to me accepting more work than I can handle, which is

why at times my best work is not set forth because I am busy juggling other assignments. Others

see this weakness of mine as being an over achiever, although I am juggling a lot of work, I

make sure each task is completed.

As a member of the SPO, Financial Management Association, there are many

opportunities to connect with other Finance major students, and various finance companies. I can

interact and build connections with other finance students, because they may be able to assist me

in the future to help me receive a job, or to partner with. I can also introduce myself to the

finance companies that are guest speakers, to increase my chances of being offered an

opportunity to interview for the company.
