World Religions Report

Religions report on the similarities and difference between Baptist and Methodist religion. The differences and distinctions between the Baptists and the Methodists are sufficiently numerous and radical to make it necessary and possible for one to tell why he is the one and not the other. Baptist distinctive is their practice of believer's baptism and corresponding rejection of infant baptism. Baptist beliefs can vary due to the congregational governance system that gives autonomy to individual local Baptist churches. Baptists have played a key role in encouraging religious freedom and separation of church and state. Methodists tend to be less strict regarding what is required for belief and more open to accepting differences of opinion among believers. While affirming the Doctrines of the Anglican Reformation Methodists have rarely been doctrinal in their affirmation of faith.  What has tended to be more important to Methodists than adherence to specific doctrines has been the practice of one's faith? I went to Church with a friend of mines brother to his church of worship.

Jason Brown belongs to Rasberry Methodist Church at 511 Roosevelt Street in Indianola, Mississippi he grew up going to a Baptist church with his grandmother, and his wife grew up going to Methodist Church. When he and his wife got married he converts to Methodist. Here is what he told me he believes are the main differences: Methodists may be baptized through sprinkling, pouring, or immersion. Sprinkling is the most common form. Baptists believe in immersion. Both believe this is symbolic and does not grant you a pardon or entrance into heaven. It is simply a gesture of faith. It is profound for some, not so much for others. But it is a public profession of your faith and belief in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Methodists baptize infants and young people.
