SECTION I. THE BUSINESS

Business Description

With headquarters in Cupertino, California, Apple is one the biggest companies that sell electronics to fit one’s needs. The business was started April 1, 1976 when Steven Wozniak and Steven Jobs sold their first Apple I computer. (Sanford, 2004) With the help of the internet, Apple is able to sell to 124 countries all over the world. By making all, this possible, Apple has made history by beating Microsoft at its peak and having a value of $623 billion.

Mission Statement

“Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad.” (Apple, 2012)

Company Values

“Apple Values are the qualities, customs, standards, and principles that the company believes will help it and its employees succeed. They are the basis for what we do and how we do it. Taken together, they identify Apple as a unique company.” (Apple Computer, Inc., 1993)
