This report was commissioned to conceive a new business/product using some affordable 3D technologies, and develop a marketing plan for it. Based on our research, applying 3D printing technology to its current business model, Simon Fraser Company (SFC) will introduce a new concept of "Build-Your-Own-Toy" to the toy industry. This allows consumers to customize, design and build their own custom-tailored toys based on individual preferences.
To accomplish its establishment in the 3D printing market, SFC will direct its marketing activities towards:
1. Target Market Strategy: SFC will predominantly target boys between the ages of 6 and 14. Researchers indicate that this is a critical stage for a child and toys are essential in supporting their educational development
2. Positioning Strategy: SFC will position its new product as the popular choice for children’s toys amongst other toy manufacturers by providing a competitive price and allowing customizations.
