Our camshaft is designed with everyone in mind. Using state-of-the art technology, we have developed a computerized camshaft that can meet the different traits that each of our clients seek. With adjustable settings, the clients have the power to request specific traits that best suit their individual needs be it power, speed or fuel efficiency. This type of customization is made possible by using the modern computer numerical control (CNC) systems that are automated and use computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs in order to “produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the commands needed to operate a particular machine via a postprocessor, and then loaded into the CNC machines for production ("Numerical control," ).” These systems facilitate customization by allowing small batches to be created at a time that are custom-designed with varying traits in order to best to suit our customers. For example, the automatic controls of the CAM system also make it possible to automatically adjust the machines after each use. As a result, we can make a small batch of powered camshafts for one client, a different camshaft for a Nascar customer interested in speed and then turn around and make yet another batch of fuel-efficient camshafts for vehicle similar to a Toyota Prius.

When you think of the adjustments that each customer requires, it’s really quite impressive how versatile these systems are. “For example, engine vacuum is unimportant for race cars, yet is critical for most street cars with power brakes or emissions equipment (Davis),” whereas, “Retarding the cam tends to make more horsepower. Advancing the cam tends to make more torque (Davis).” Without the CAM and CAD processes, “customization would be a time-consuming, labor-intensive and costly process. Computer software,...
